La Venta is in the small village of Casamaria, in eastern Asturias, 1km from Cabanzon, and 25km from San Vicente de la Barquera. On the first weekend of September, Casamaria celebrates its annual fair that keeps alive the 200 year old tradition of the ‘ramu’ and ‘picayos’ dancing. The house is in a quiet spot but within easy access of beautiful places to visit such as the Fuentede cable car, the Covadonga lakes, Altamira caves or the Cabarceno Park.
This charming stone house stands in a 20,000 sq metre garden with plenty of fruit and native trees. The river Suspino runs through it giving the location a very special charm. The views of endless gentle hills all around the house are splendid. The coast is easily accessed: the nearest beaches are La Franca, 12km away, Pechon 13km away and Oyambre, now a national park, 15km away.
Details of Accommodation
You enter a hall; to the left are stairs to the upper floor, and to the right is a table and chairs and doors to two bedrooms; one has a double bed, and one has a large single bed. The spacious living room has a sofa, armchairs, plus a dining table and chairs. In between the kitchen and the living room is a hall. The kitchen is well equipped with vitro-ceramic electric cooker, and a fridge/freezer. Off the second hall is a bathroom/WC and a shower room/WC, plus a sitting room with a fireplace, a sofa, armchairs and TV.
Upstairs is a bedroom with a large single bed and two twin bedrooms – all have balconies overlooking the garden. There is also a sitting room with a music system and books. Up a further flight of stairs is a large open space (40m2) used as a sitting room with games and a sofa bed.
Next to the house is a smaller outbuilding with a paved area, used for barbecues and having drinks.
Outside July and August there are special reduced prices for parties of 4 or less sharing.
