Cantabria is between the mountains of the Cordillera Cantarica and the Cantabrian sea, creating a breathtaking scenery wherever you are. Santander is the largest city and has both a ferry port and international airport making our Cantabria cottages easily accessible. Apart from a number of attractive beaches, you can quickly find exceptional mountain walks particularly in the Picos De Europa National Park. Good local restaurants are never far away with seafood prominent: generally bass, monkfish, sea bream, bocartes (anchovies or whitebait) and tuna are always part of the local menu; traditional meat stews (cocido montaņes) are just delicious.
